Edward H. Bohlin Diamond Belt Buckle

The Meekins Collection

Sterling Silver, 18kt Yellow Gold, and Diamonds

Exceptional designer belt buckle by Edward H. Bohlin, the legendary Hollywood saddle maker and silversmith whose work defined the image of the American West in the early to mid 20th century. Bohlin’s creations were worn by iconic figures including Clark Gable, Cary Grant, John Wayne, Roy Rogers and Gene Autry and are widely regarded as heirloom quality works of wearable art.

This rectangular buckle is finely crafted in sterling silver and 18kt yellow gold, featuring a rich chased gold border framing a field of pavé set diamonds. The surface is set with one hundred sixty-four (164) round brilliant-cut diamonds, each secured in individual bead settings, creating exceptional brilliance and depth. The diamonds range approximately 0.03–0.07 carats each, totaling approximately 8.00 carats, with G–H color and SI1–I1 clarity overall. Cutting is assessed as good to very good.

The buckle exhibits a high polish finish and substantial presence, executed in a heavy gauge construction weighing approximately 28.0 dwt, reflecting Bohlin’s commitment to durability, craftsmanship, and luxury. The reverse retains the original buckle attachment.

Bohlin belt buckles are among the most coveted objects of Western Americana and Hollywood memorabilia, prized for their association with screen legends, elite rodeo culture, and master-level silversmithing. This diamond set example represents the pinnacle of Bohlin’s artistry, combining bold Western design with fine jewelry execution.
