Algonkin: Polychrome lidded basket. Red and bluish gray painted ash splints 1" wide, plaited with tan strips creating hozizontal banded pattern of alternate colors bordered by rows of narrow splints. Circular 8 pointed petal stamps on exposed verticle warps. Horizontal bands are are individual "ring method" of construction. Rim reinforced with circular rods bound with down-to-the-left binding. Central portion of lid decorated with petal stamp in black and red.
