Asian and Tribal Art - Zena Kruzick

A large incense burner/brazier depicting the rain god Tlaloc from the El Chanal area in Colima. These would be placed in an altar or temple, with a tray of burning coals and incense placed inside the column or on top. There is a similar piece in the Walters Art Museum, MD.
