Biwa Plectrum, Japan

Asian and Tribal Art - Zena Kruzick

A beautiful rosewood plectrum used in plucking the strings of a chikuzen-biwa, which is a 4-5 string fretted lute used traditionally for narrative story-telling. The tips are made of notched boxwood, and some wear from use can be seen on the edges.
