Fine, early Plateau beaded bag featuring an elk. Note the contour beading on the torso, neck and hindquarters. Contour beading is said to have died out by 1920. This handsome bag looks to be 1910-1920 and is 10 1/2″ by 9 1/2″. The back is a black woolen fabric and the interior is lined with a maroon patterned fabric. Fine condition with no missing beads.
