Large Charm
Mark A. Johnson Tribal Art
A male figure with long arms coming down to and resting on the knees. At the bottom, on either side of the phallus, are the legs, reduced in scale, and curved back on themselves. The figure has an open mouth, with bared teeth, a gesture often meant to express aggression against malevolent spirits.
The piece is definitely a charm, but it has a handle like structure at the base, and I believe it was held at that point. It may have been inserted into something as well.
Hardwood.
