A very fine example of a 'Gelede ' mask from the Yoruba people of South West Nigeria  featuring a facial style often seen on Ibeji fihgures from the region Abeokuta region This mask dates from the   early part of the 20th century and has seen many ceremonies associated with the female ancestors of the tribal group.
