Small Man's Ceremonial Poncho (Inku)
Dave DeRoche - Pre-Columbian & Art of the Americas
In many Andean areas, men wore such dazzingly artful ponchos on important ceremonial occasions. The mahogany brown central field appears to be the natural fleece or fiber color of a camelid, probably an alpaca. Note the colorful stripes of white, red and blue.
