This is a 9" x 9.5" original and vintage carving by the father of Cordova carving in New Mexico, Jose Dolores Lopez, 1868-1937. The 'Bull in Pasture' is oil on wood with the original carved frame by Lopez. In the 1920s Frank Applegate convinced Lopez to stop painting is carvings and to only sell plain carving wood religious artwork. This painting is an example of his previous work. Fine condition.
