An exceptional New Caledonian War Club. 19th c.
TAD Tribal Art
A club shaped like the head of a stylized bird , known as "go porowa ra maru " in the Paici language, this New Caledonian club has an extra long beak, giving it an elegant form. I've have had a number of these clubs over the years, and this one, without a doubt, is my favorite.

a few chips , and crack across one "eye "of the stylized bird. Nice patina and signs of use.
