Tsa-tsa Votive Tablet
Erik Farrow
A beautify detailed 17th century Tsa-tsa Tibetan clay tablet from a mold. I believe this is an image of Buddha, and there is an inscription on the base. These sacred molded clay tablets were consecrated and placed in stupas, shrines and holy sites. There is some small loss to the nose, a crack across the neck, and some loss around the edges, but in person this is not bothersome as the piece is so finely detailed and small. Wonderful patina from age and use.
