Ottoman Turkish Table With Tughra Monogram

The Meekins Collection

An exceptional mid 19th century Ottoman Turkish table, richly decorated and bearing a tughra monogram, the imperial cipher associated with Ottoman sultans. The presence of the tughra elevates the piece, linking it to the grandeur and symbolism of the Ottoman court.

Expertly crafted, the table showcases the intricate artistry and ornamental detail characteristic of Ottoman design. The surface and structure reflect fine workmanship, with decorative elements that highlight both geometry and flowing calligraphic influence.

Tables of this nature were often created as statement pieces, blending function with regal artistry. The tughra motif, traditionally reserved for official documents and imperial commissions, adds historic and cultural significance.
