Pre-Columbian Duck Vessel
Dave DeRoche - Pre-Columbian & Art of the Americas
Large ceramic duck, brown and black; lovely form. Ducks were especially revered by the Olmec because they were active in three major Olmec universes: land, air, and water. This duck's head shares the shape associated with Olmec "baby face" human figures.
