






WOOD WARRIOR FIGURE

Konyak Naga - mid-20th century - heavy wooden effigy figure, in full warrior regalia, with marble inlaid eyes and carved figurative examples of the following: fiber belt encircling the waist, ivory bangles on the upper arms, dao (machete) in upraised right hand, rifle in the left, a triple head pendant hanging from the neck, goat horn ear ornaments, a boar's tusk and bear fur encircled hat, and a hair stick at the back of the head as was commonly used by a warrior to keep the hair back - very good condition with cracks of age on the left side and back of the head, some small chips and gouges, and damage to the fingers of the right hand and shaft of the dao, and to one of the carved ear ornaments - 34" tall, 11" wide (across arms), 8" thick (through head) - on base
