





Seven Indian tribal dolls

Little is known about the exact origin and purpose of these dolls. They were likely dowry effigies but were later used as toys by children. All have a shiny patina from use.
Some say they originate from the Terai area of Nepal and North India, others say they are from Maharashtra, towards, inland.
Tallest one is 31 cm.
