Large Pre-Columbian Chimu textile tunic with Huari influence from the Central Coast of Peru, ca. 1000 CE. Textil tunic woven from Camelid (Alpaca) wool and dyed with vegetable dye. The sleeves have geometric figures, and the lower edge part of the shirt has birds and geometric figures in the shape of a step. The shirt is in a very good state of preservation, it would have belonged to an important individual. A large and fantastic example! 43 3/8" in width x 14 5/8" in height. Attached to a frame that can be hung on a wall. Ex. Hannah Gandelman collection acquired through family descent, Hollywood, Fl. In the family collection prior to 1970.
