This pin is in the Native American style of silver overlay with an insest of a fine turquoise stone. It has the hallmark of Frank Patania Sr. who workedfrom the 1940s-19160s. Frank Patania Sr is a highly recognized jeweler who emigrated to the US from Messina, Italy. Patanina opened a shop in Santa Fe in 1927, calling it The Thunderbird Shop. He located it right next to the Santa Fe Railroad ticket office. His jewelry became widely recognized and demand for his work grew. This pin has been in a private collection for many years and is fresh to the market.
