Konyak Naga - late 1800's - early 1900's - only a very high ranking angh, or chief, of one of the most important Konyak villages, would have worn a rare neck ring such as this one with eleven figurative heads and with none of the usual spiral extensions, signifying his status within the tribe as an angh of anghs, and as the ultimate head taker - incredibly worn and smooth from age and use - 7" x 6" - excellent condition - collected in Mon area, Nagaland, early 1980's
