Ao Naga woman - beads mid - late 1800’s – a strand of extremely old, “excavated” oval carnelian beads, traded from South India, most of which are among the oldest seen in the culture - strung through stations of traditional, cylindrical cobalt European glass trade beads and well-worn brass “bugle” shaped elements, of local manufacture, with a small, slice shaped chank shell button, all classic Ao tribe jewelry elements – 24” – bead sizes 23mm – 30mm – excellent condition
