Chang Naga - late 19th - early 20th century - rare, closely matched pair of antique South Indian Ocean chank shells worn by a warrior or rich man, with tattooing figuratively symbolizing a pair of mithun horns, usually associated with a feast giver, an important man of wealth - bamboo or horn pick tied to the back would go through an ear piercing into its accompanying bamboo tube, also tied onto the back, and would suspend by the string over the ear - 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" - on base
