a) Beanwoos Shield, Central Desert. The curved front of the shield has deep grooved vertically down its surface painted in red pigment, with some white designs centrally. The handle is very well carved and heavvily patinaed

b) Wunda Shield, Kimberly Coast, Western Australia. These are among the most beautiful of Aboriginal shileds, made in hardwood, with fine grooves in a zig-zag pattern. The grooves are painted alternatively red and white. The back is also grooved.            64 x 14 x 3.5 cm     $2,800
