This is a 10" x 17" oil on canvas by the very important Venezuelan painter and early founder of the Venezuela school of painting Antonio Herrera Toro, 1847-1914. The image shows the 'Temple of Hercules' in Rome with a figure before it, an oxen drawn cart and a soldier watering his horse. Signed at lower right. Fine condition in a new contemporary frame. Ca 1870.
