A Navajo Man's Wearing Blanket
Old Saltillo Road
This Navajo Man's wearing blanket is from the Late Classic Period, ca: 1875. It is soft and pliable to the hand, like a Classic Period blanket, not thick and densely packed like a rug. It sports a composition of a fancy serape blanket. Lustrous indigo blue icons accent the analine dyed native homespun red field along with natural yellow. The natural colored gray variegated bands draw the eye. There is no damage, no fade, and no bleeding of dyes. Native handspun weft and warp.
